Which is why I want to share a little more about me!
Outside of my work as a therapist, I’m someone who finds a lot of grounding in simple, meaningful moments. I’m often drawn to nature—whether that’s hiking forest trails, camping, or embarking on road trips that allow for a slower pace and a change of scenery. I enjoy photography as a way of capturing those quiet moments. I also enjoy gardening, reading, and baking.
I share life with my Australian Shepherd, Brodie, who has been by my side for the past 12 years and continues to be a steady, familiar presence in my day-to-day life.
In 2023, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Moving through that experience—and completing treatment—brought a deeper awareness of how quickly life can shift, and how important it is to feel supported during those moments. It also led me to make meaningful changes in my own life, including focusing more on whole nutrition, movement, and a more intentional, balanced way of living.
These parts of my life have shaped the way I understand balance, presence, and what it means to feel grounded—both personally and in the work that I do. They’ve also influenced how I support others in slowing down and reconnecting with what matters most.
While therapy is always centred on you and your experience, I believe it can feel easier to open up when you have a sense of the person sitting across from you.
I know that taking the first step towards therapy can be hard.
That's why I offer a free phone consultation to help you determine if Alternative Roots Therapy is the right fit for you.

If we work together, you can expect to be met with empathy, respect, and genuine care. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to show up as you are—without pressure, judgment, or the need to have everything figured out.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in meeting you where you are. I will take the time to understand your experiences, work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and support you in exploring what feels important in your life right now.
Together, we’ll work to make sense of what you’re going through, while also identifying new perspectives, possibilities, and strengths that may not always feel visible. My role is not to direct or define your path, but to support you in reconnecting with your own capacity for growth, resilience, and meaningful change.
